The Autumn Edit

The new season is approaching fast and we always like to give you a break down of what little goodies will be arriving over the next few weeks. Along with trends, colours and popular styles to look out for too.
 

Think Pink!

Perhaps the prettiest pallet we've seen in a while for the autumn. What they've been calling 'winter pastels' will be accenting right the way through the collections from soft, fluffy knits to coats and scarves to follow later on. The winter pastels heavily feature dusty rose pinks, soft lavenders and deep minty hues. On the other side of the colour spectrum, cobalt blue is a more bold choice for those of you who are looking to make more of a statement.

Season of The Coat 

Keep an eye out for our cocoon and wrap styles that will keep you nice and warm this winter. As you all probably know it's always good to get in early. We're looking forward to those oversized upper body silhouettes paired with skinny fit jeans or the seasons must have leather pants (Scandi style!).

 The Must Have Jeans

If your thinking of investing in a good staple pair of jeans then we've got the low down on the best (and most comfortable). Our two favourite styles at L'Armoire are the most popular with our customers too. And yes, they are back in stock! Firstly, 'super' is the word for Fillipa K's inky blue super stretch skinny jeans. The dark blue wash means they are 'super' flattering and can easily been worn day or night. Next up is the staple 'Racoon' style from Day Birger et Mikkelsen. Featured in every collection for as long as we can remember. They are medium rise, slim leg and have lots of stretch. The best bit is that they are coated in a leatherlike waxy finish that gives them their edge. Colours vary each season. For Autumn we have fig and the ever trusty black.  Scarves are increasingly playing a huge part of our daily style. Not just for keeping the cold at bay, the statement scarf is an utter essential in switching a look up or down. They allow you to play with trends and are perfect for adding a luxury element to an otherwise simply outfit. We've got plenty to choose from!

Finally summer has arrived and it's HOT outside (something that is quite unknown to us here in the UK) and when the sun is here, suddenly the one thing that's on every girls mind 'what do I wear?'.  How to Dress Rain or Shine

Layering is pretty much the concept that saves you feeling 'undressed' on cooler days and allows you to adapt your look on days you get caught out in a heatwave (we realise these are rare). The great thing about layering is that it's more or less trans-seasonal, allowing you to get more mileage out of well invested pieces. From lightweight basics, soft jackets, fine knits and of course scarves. The key is to keep layers simple and tonal. It will almost certainly become part of your daily outfit routine and we bet you'll be hooked before you know it.

The lovely Xantippe in Cowbridge has launched a brand spanking new website which we are rather pleased about. The clean and easy to navigate site allows you to browse their ever changing stock of home a lifestyle products if you can't make it in to the store itself. Our favourites have to be their beautiful glassware and extensive feather filled cushion selection that has on many occasion saved our gift dilemmas. As big fans of the French style interiors, Xantippe also stock the much loved (and hard to find) Comptoir de Famille brand. We're obsessed with their 'Dimanche a la Campagne' scented candle right now which you will more often than not find burning in L'Armoire most days.     Fashion @ Arboreal Low Down...

If you weren't able to make our fashion night at Arboreal back in May, then here's a lovely photo of the L'Armoire girls looking gorgeous on our lawn. The night itself was super stylish as expected and as a full house we managed to raise £590 for Ty Hafan. Thanks to everyone that attended. Let's just say that L'Armoire's new front lawn was christened in style. We're looking forward to the next autumn event already!

Fashion @ Aboreal Coming Up

Print is back in the spotlight this season and there's plenty to choose from. Whether you want to opt for a little hint with a printed tee or scarf, or go all out with American Vintage's chevron print soft trousers. Step in to spring with our favourite pieces from the boutique right now.

Day Birger et Mikkelsen's pastel rose printed silk 'Amelie' blouse is an effortless easy piece that you will be no doubt wearing all season. Style with cool cropped trousers or denim shorts if you feeling brave.

Filippa K opted for a solar inspired print for an every day staple t-shirt. The luxury feel and pocket detail allows this little number to be layered under a smart look suit for work or relaxed down with boyfriend jeans at the weekend.

Blooming Beautiful

As you all know, here at L'Armoire we are big fans of Scandinavian fashion. So much so we decided to take a much anticipated trip out to Copenhagen Fashion Week in early February. And it didn't disappoint. A notoriously cool and clean city, the clothes and fashion reflected that very same vibe in abundance. We couldn't help but be more inspired, more influenced and more in love with our very own Danish brands stocked in the boutique. The highlight no doubt was the 10th anniversary show for Malene Birger set in the most beautiful Royal Theatre in central Copenhagen. The show was a true celebration of the brands most iconic monochrome history with splashes of royal blue and the softest blush proving that Malene Birger really is the Danish Princess. Blooming Beautiful

L'Armoire really is in bloom right now. With the prettiest petal pinks, juicy corals, cool mints and flurries of fluro bursting from the rails, it really is hard to contain our excitement for spring. With all these summery hues, we thought we'd put together some outfit ideas to inspire you for Spring.

Introduce one of springs fresh lavender hues with this Filippa K cotton pullover layered over a crisp white shirt and inky super stretch jeans (the most comfortable jeans ever!).

Opt for a softer trouser shape this season with Day's confetti print silk pants. Keep the silhouette flowing with this clay draped front leather jacket and lilac Jacksonville tee.

For a easy but cool run around town look, let the jeans do the talking. These pop tomato skinnies look clean cut teamed with button up blouse and navy modern mac. The rose gold zip detail on the mac gives it that extra special bit of magic. 

Day's Done It Again...

Just about the coolest jacket we've seen in a long while, Day Birger et Mikkelsen have put their stamp all over this utilitarian piece and we love it. It's best feature apart from the embroidery is that the arms zip off turning it into a summer gilet. Genius! Style it with: Simply an American Vintage marshmallow pink tee. A Scandi Spring

Hi all,

It's been a while but we hope you have all had a great start to 2013. Speaking of NEW things, we bet your all itching to see what's coming up for the new season too. There will be lots of lovely brights, pastels, prints and stripes and soon they will be filling the rails for you all to admire. And no, your not going to have to wait until the weather gets warmer either. You can dive straight in. We've had some super stylish pieces that will get you started straight away. Give your wardrobe a lift with these little beauties, and as always, we've got some essential styling tips for each one.

Zebra print was all over the catwalks for SS13. Be bold and update a dreary wardrobe with this super soft oversized cardigan in a luxurious wool and angora mix. Obviously this is a lovely cosy piece to layer up over basics and fine knits right now with skinny jeans and boots. The tip for styling it in to spring is to add pop brights underneath. We're liking the sound of neon pink or pineapple.

If your not quite brave enough to go all out zebra, we suggest a little hint of it in of course, now a L'Armoire staple, a print scarf. Available in the classic black and white zebra or in flash pink zebra, they are made of the softest fine wool and are an all year rounder. The scarf never fails to freshen up a look and allows you to dip your toes in to a new season trend with caution. Our styling tip for now is our favourite combination of  flash pink with all shades of navy blue.

Wee willie winkie is a style icon in our books (well the print on his night shirt is anyway). The classic blue and white vertical stripe always looks fresh and can be styled up or down depending on your mood. Right now, we suggest it layered under a cosy cashmere pullover and blazer and in the warmer months make it sharper by tucking in to the new bubble skirt shape. We thinks it looks super cool and relaxed with this pretty parma violet merino wool cardigan from our NEW Brand,Filippa K!

Nudes next to brights is a key trend for Spring too. What better way to lift your mood than to slip this modernistic pullover over a muted cosy basic from AV's collection right now, then once in to the summer months, a pair of tailored shorts and flat sandals.
