Coat Conundrum

What an exciting time of year! L'Armoire is bursting with treats for the autumn and we are going to give you the latest lowdown on what's been arriving in store for the new season. The weather has finally turned and there's a definite nip in the air. This is cause to take action so yes, it's time to start thinking 'coat time'. As one of the most important investments you will make all season, it's important to get it right and of course, we've got some lovely coat conundrums to help you out.

There's definitely been a stand out in the coat style stakes this year. The woollen cacoon shape that heralds from the cool Scandinavian influence is the leader of the pack. Choose Day's multi colour fleck tweed coat that will give you that update your outerwear that your looking for.

Hit more of a minimal silhouette in Malene Birger's envelope sleeve 'Berko' style that is effortlessly simple yet stylish. Ideal to slip over a neat leather or denim jacket for a clean layered finish.

The Autumn Edit

The new season is approaching fast and we always like to give you a break down of what little goodies will be arriving over the next few weeks. Along with trends, colours and popular styles to look out for too.
 

Think Pink!

Perhaps the prettiest pallet we've seen in a while for the autumn. What they've been calling 'winter pastels' will be accenting right the way through the collections from soft, fluffy knits to coats and scarves to follow later on. The winter pastels heavily feature dusty rose pinks, soft lavenders and deep minty hues. On the other side of the colour spectrum, cobalt blue is a more bold choice for those of you who are looking to make more of a statement.

Season of The Coat 

Keep an eye out for our cocoon and wrap styles that will keep you nice and warm this winter. As you all probably know it's always good to get in early. We're looking forward to those oversized upper body silhouettes paired with skinny fit jeans or the seasons must have leather pants (Scandi style!).

If your thinking of investing in a good staple pair of jeans then we've got the low down on the best (and most comfortable). Our two favourite styles at L'Armoire are the most popular with our customers too. And yes, they are back in stock! Firstly, 'super' is the word for Fillipa K's inky blue super stretch skinny jeans. The dark blue wash means they are 'super' flattering and can easily been worn day or night. Next up is the staple 'Racoon' style from Day Birger et Mikkelsen. Featured in every collection for as long as we can remember. They are medium rise, slim leg and have lots of stretch. The best bit is that they are coated in a leatherlike waxy finish that gives them their edge. Colours vary each season. For Autumn we have fig and the ever trusty black.  How to Dress Rain or Shine

Layering is pretty much the concept that saves you feeling 'undressed' on cooler days and allows you to adapt your look on days you get caught out in a heatwave (we realise these are rare). The great thing about layering is that it's more or less trans-seasonal, allowing you to get more mileage out of well invested pieces. From lightweight basics, soft jackets, fine knits and of course scarves. The key is to keep layers simple and tonal. It will almost certainly become part of your daily outfit routine and we bet you'll be hooked before you know it.

The lovely Xantippe in Cowbridge has launched a brand spanking new website which we are rather pleased about. The clean and easy to navigate site allows you to browse their ever changing stock of home a lifestyle products if you can't make it in to the store itself. Our favourites have to be their beautiful glassware and extensive feather filled cushion selection that has on many occasion saved our gift dilemmas. As big fans of the French style interiors, Xantippe also stock the much loved (and hard to find) Comptoir de Famille brand. We're obsessed with their 'Dimanche a la Campagne' scented candle right now which you will more often than not find burning in L'Armoire most days.     Fashion @ Arboreal Low Down...

If you weren't able to make our fashion night at Arboreal back in May, then here's a lovely photo of the L'Armoire girls looking gorgeous on our lawn. The night itself was super stylish as expected and as a full house we managed to raise £590 for Ty Hafan. Thanks to everyone that attended. Let's just say that L'Armoire's new front lawn was christened in style. We're looking forward to the next autumn event already!
