What's Been Going On At L'Armoire

Hi all,

It's been a while since our last post and a lot has been going on at L'Armoire that we would love to share with you. 

First off we've had a gorgeous make-over in store. For those of you who haven't been in for a little while you'll notice we've got lovely, shiny new fitting rooms placed at the back of the shop in our new extension. It's given us loads more room, allowing for the drop of two fantastic new brands this season, Gat Rimon and Rails (more on those later).

The summer season has been a busy one and as we approach AW15 we'll bring you the latest trends and key pieces that you'll want to 'grab before they go'. 

Brand Profiles

Rails - The hottest new brand to come out of LA, in this we have definitely found the 'perfect shirt'. Cool, relaxed and refined these high quality shirts are super soft and super wearable. Just look at how our favourite celebrities style theirs. Keep your eye out in store as there will be regular drops of styles and prints every 2-3 months. We don't know how we managed without ours!

Gat Rimon - This chic little Parisien label offers essential, trend pieces and must-haves for our closets. Created by three life-long friends, their ethos is simple 'We design for all women: her, you and us'. Our favourite print of the season had to be the palm tree print.

Looking Ahead

We hate to be too premature but we all know fashion moves quickly. With this in mind we'd love to give you a sneak preview of what's to come for AW15. What better way to start than with the key investment of the new season, the coat. By Malene Birger has given us exactly this in their statement leopard print.

Sale Time

Don't forget we've also got our fantastic Summer SALE on in store. With up to 70% off there are some amazing bargains to be had. L'Armoire Christmas Edit

Hi all,

We're here to make it as easy as possible for you this Christmas to help solve your gift conundrums. Yep, we've done all the hard work and come up with some pretty good ideas that will see you ticking off that list quick sharp. We'll even have our complimentary Christmas wrapping station set up ready to pack your goodies too. Something Special

Christmas is all about special things and what could be more special than these two ethereal pieces from By Malene birger to treat that someone you love. They also make great party pieces, so if you can't wait until Christmas and have a diary full of festivities they both mix perfectly with jeans or cigarette pants and have just enough sparkle.

We Are Five

Hi all,

 We've been away for little a while, but we're back with a special celebration this week... L'Armoire's 5th birthday!! Yes, can you believe it. We are turning 5 on Wednesday and to celebrate we'll have treats and special give aways with every purchase in store on the day. Please pop in and celebrate with us and bring your friends too!

Wrap Up

Now the weather has finally turned truly autumnal we've got some seasonal wardrobe essentials that are sure to be on your hit list. We all like to wrap up from the cold, but doing it stylishly is key. We've got all the winter warmers you'll need from cosy coats to snugly knits, so take note.

The Coats

Probably the biggest coat trend of AW14 is the blanket/wrap coat. We've all seen the Burberry tribe strutting their blankets, monogrammed with the initials of the model who's wearing it and of course, Malene Birger has tapped right in to this trend with her 'Zabina' blanket coat. With it's versatile and subtle plaid print, this has got to be a 'throw over everything piece' that will be a hard worker in your wardrobe all season.

 

Take inspiration from the catwalks and scale up your proportions in an oversized winter white cocoon style coat. We have the perfect one by American Vintage which will have you feeling snug as a bug with plenty of room for layering underneath.

 If your looking for something seriously luxurious, Day have the perfect fit. Their sherling panelled tailored coat is a real forever piece that's a true classic and can be brought out year upon year. Perfect as a festive party season cover up.

The hard working hero coat has got to be Filippa K's 'Bella' parka. We totally fell in love with it's cool and practical qualities so much so we had to stock it in both colourways. Below we've featured the khaki/cream combo but it also comes in navy/black too. Oh and the best feature of all... it's two coats in one! You can completely separate the layers and wear as you wish.

 

This Weeks Featured Knit

 Add a little splash of colour in to your winter wardrobe with this American Vintage coral knit. Made with Italian yarn it's super soft and snugly, perfect for that slouchy off duty look and will be sure to brighten up a dull and dreary day. Why not style it with one of Malene Birger's iconic leopard scarves.

Hi all,

As the weather changes right on cue, we head in to the new season with an exciting Fashion week ahead of us. Kicking things off on Wednesday 22nd October (that's tomorrow night ladies!), we have a late night opening with fizz, nibbles, give aways and 10% off all purchases as part of the Champagne trail in Cowbridge. All are welcome, so don't hesitate to pop in for bubbles and a sneaky bit of shopping the lovely Autumn/Winter goodies in store..., Just follow the guide below.

Next up is the evening fashion show at The Bear on Thursday 23rd, then a fashion lunch at the Bear on Friday 24th. These are always well supported so we will see you there! Look out for L'Armoire's girls strutting their stuff!

We would like to think summer has arrived but the weather seems to be telling us different each week... Anyway, don't let it dampen your summer spirit! For those of you jetting off to sunnier climates, we've got a whole host of holiday must haves that you really won't want to be without plus a peek at What's New in the boutique.

Nailstation Paris High Summer polishes have just arrived ready for the holiday season! Pick one of these perfect pop's of colour, ready to jet off somewhere tropical (or to just make you feel in the mood). 

Holiday Hot List

Day Birger et Mikkelsen's 'Alva' printed cotton tunic is a mush have. A cool essential cover up for beach or pool, this pretty piece will also double up as a dress to wear for a day sight seeing or out for an evening meal. Style tips: Cinch in with skinny belt and layer your beads and necklaces bohemian stlyle. 

What is a holiday wardrobe without a pop of colour? Malene Birger is thinking pink with this fluro, silk asymmetric top. Once again, easy to style day or night (multi-functional is key). Style tip: Keep it simple.

 

American Vintage are best known for their soft cotton basics which in recent collections has extended to a silk group too. This barley clouds print tank style adds a luxury element to any holiday wardrobe looking relaxed with shorts or dressed up under a tux jacket and soft trousers. Style tip: Tuck in if your look is blousey and billowing and leave out if it's skinny or skimpy.

The Sports Luxe Look

Hi all,

 We're bringing a slightly more sporty element to this newsletter, but don't worry, we won't have you out exerting yourself too much (only in the shopping department). This is purely what they call 'sports luxe'. Introducing an element of shape or fabric that heralds from sportswear in it's origin.

 American Vintage are first up with their 'Lincoln Liberty' shorts. A style that is almost always associated with a more active lifestyle, these are actually quite the opposite. Silk in fabric and oh so pretty in print, these chic little shorts will take you from off duty day to sophisticated nighttime with ultimate ease. We've teamed them with clean Filippa K grey linen tee and soft modal scarf.

 Next up is this fun star stitched 'Niddia' sweatshirt from By Malene Birger. A play on the old baseball sweat shape, this once again has been re-worked in to something altogether more stylish. We love the side zip detail revealing a secret silk insert too and would 'play down' a clean leather pencil skirt for a sleeker, and more modern look.

Track pants have been re-modelled in to a soft print summer trouser. Keeping the the simple tapered shape is key to making this style work for you. The waistband has stayed elasticated (thank goodness), so keeps the ultimate comfort element in. They also look great styled with heels or flats making them a versatile modern trouser option. Both Filippa K and Day Birger et Mikkelsen have come up with their take on this trend.

 

This Week's Star Buy

 Feeling all inspired buy the Coachella music festival taking part across the pond, we love this Day Birger et Mikkelsen 'Monsoon' jacket that's just arrived in store this week. Super cool and practical it has the perfect balance of utility, and bohemian in equal measures and the best feature of all.., zip off sleeves! Cleverly turning itself in to a cute little gilet for when the weather warms up, we're sure this the perfect summer purchase.

Our go to designer Malene Birger has once again taken a modern twist on a classic with this beautiful neon pink 'Mauda' silk top. Dress up with navy cropped peg trousers or down with jeans and sandals. Also doubles up as a chic beach cover up.

You Might Want To Know...

For those of you who snapped up a pair or two of the incredible Filippa K super stretch skinny jeans you may want to form an orderly cue for the updated Spring/Summer version in chambray blue. They arrived in store just this week.
