Christmas Countdown...

Hi all,

Christmas is only two weeks away and if your like us, amongst all the 'what to get who?' whirling round in our heads we've are focusing our minds on most importantly 'what to where on Christmas day?'. We always like to feel like we are wearing something special, so our main requirements are looking stylish, yet feeling comfortable (after all the mulled wine and mince pies) without looking too over done.

Here are three great outfits that tick all the boxes;

Day Birger et Mikkelsen's taupe brown 'velvet classic' dress gives a bit of luxury with its pleated velvet detail. It's pretty silk trim on the cuffs and hem add an extra touch of romance. We suggest adding one of Day's crystal bead necklaces to finish the look.

American Vintage's black wool jumper dress fits your form without feeling too body con. Wear over a pair of our Falke black opaque tights or their 100 denier smooth leggings. Dress the look up with Day's black and gold embellished wool and alpaca 'malou' cardigan. These two pieces can be utilised with a multitude of different outfits after.

Channel one of this seasons prints with Day Birger et Mikkelsen's 'paisley silk tunic. We love the stud detail around the neckline giving it an edge. Add warmth by throwing American Vintage's cosy ink boyfriend cardy over the top. Made from the softest angora it will keep you looking totally effortless.

As well as all the fabulous clothing, L'Armoire also has a great range of gifts if your stuck for ideas.

1. If your feeling generous, this Liberty of London gorgeous dark grey wool and silk 'Ianthe' print scarf (£235) will make any girl happy with its understated elegance. It will be kept for a lifetime!

2. If its for someone special, one of Liberty's beautiful leather diaries or notebooks (£45-£50) will keep the recipient organised in the new year with style.

3. If your on a budget a gift that never fails to please is a sumptuous scented candle. Liberty's 'Citrus Amara' candle combines verbena, rosewood, amber and neroli to create a truly beautiful scent (£35).

Recognising the most influential people in the fashion world today the British Fashion awards took place in London this week on Tuesday 7th December at the glamorous Savoy Hotel and Theatre. We wish we could say we attended but sadly not. Follow this link http://www.britishfashionawards.com/ and check out the winners this year. We think Phoebe Philo was a truly deserving recipient of the Designer of the Year    award creating a whole new direction for fashion with her minimal chic tailoring at the french fashion house Celine.

See you soon xx
