Christmas Countdown...

Hi all,

Christmas is only two weeks away and if your like us, amongst all the 'what to get who?' whirling round in our heads we've are focusing our minds on most importantly 'what to where on Christmas day?'. We always like to feel like we are wearing something special, so our main requirements are looking stylish, yet feeling comfortable (after all the mulled wine and mince pies) without looking too over done.

Here are three great outfits that tick all the boxes;

Day Birger et Mikkelsen's taupe brown 'velvet classic' dress gives a bit of luxury with its pleated velvet detail. It's pretty silk trim on the cuffs and hem add an extra touch of romance. We suggest adding one of Day's crystal bead necklaces to finish the look.

We Are One!!

Phew..., It's been a busy few weeks for L'Armoire.

First, (as we're sure you all know) it was Cowbridge fashion week. A fantastic crowd lined the streets as the vintage themed parade started a fashion frenzy for the opening night. The L'Armoire girls looked stylish as ever in some of our hottest picks from this seasons collections. Our late night opening saw L'Armoire turn into glamorous party mode with Juliet working her makeup magic on anyone who could jump in the makeup seat quick enough!

Then followed our fantastic catwalk show on the Saturday in the town hall which went down a storm. A huge thank you to everyone who came throughout the week, which made it a super success.....we can't wait until next year!

And, before we can draw breath, it will be...., L'Armoire's 1st Birthday next Friday 12th November!!

So, keeping you updated on what's new in store, American Vintage is keeping us cool while casual (and most importantly warm) with its super stylish grey hoody. We love it layered underneath AV's charcoal soft zip jacket. With its fleece lining we can see ourselves cosying up in front of the fire after a walk in the autumnal countryside. You could also team it with one of Day's seasonal leather jacket's to give it a cooler more urban edge.

As we mentioned in our last newsletter, Falke tights are L'Armoire's latest new brand stocked. They have been flying out, so don't forget to come and stock up on your winter hosiery here. We can't get enough of their Pure Matt 50 Denier tights that give the sexiest legs ever. Honestly, they work wonders and we wouldn't be without a pair in at least two colours..., (we're thinking classic black and quirky bottle green).

Cowbridge Fashion Week!!

Hi all,

Just sending a quick reminder to all you fashion savvy ladies that Cowbridge Fashion Week starts this Thursday 21st!! It all kicks off with the fashion parade which starts up on Westgate and will run down to the Town Hall. L'Armoire will have tree gorgeous models showing our hottest picks from our Autumn/Winter collections. From there L'Armoire invites you to join us for a late night opening until 8pm and every girls favourite... shopping, champagne and cupcakes. Once again L'Armoire is offering mini make overs and beauty tips from our fantastic make up artist Juliet. The perfect combination for a fabulously fashionable night out!

Thursday will also see the long awaited drop of Falke tights. Come and snap up your black smooth basic hosiery, and also mix it up with a little navy, grey,wine, and bottle green. Along with their super comfy black rib legging your wardrobe staples will be set before the cold weather sets in.

Saturday 23rd sees L'Armoire's first catwalk show which starts at 1pm in the Town Hall. We will be giving London Fashion Week a run for its money with a slick production. We say it's a must see. Hi all,

So the season is going with a swing and we can't get enough of all the cosy cashmere, angora, wool, sumptuous velvet and layers of super soft cottons. And here at L'Armoire we have the perfect luxury wardrobe staple replacing your faithful jeans to team with all of the above for day and for night. Day Birger et Mikkelsen's black leather trousers. London V's Cowbridge Fashion Week

Hi all,

Ahhh, so London Fashion Week was amazing! Of course a really inspiring trip with loads of styling ideas from the fash pack around and about at LFW for our current season (as always an abundance of black, with khaki, Camel and all tones of grey thrown in). P.S Our top five shoe guide last week was spot on, with a great mix of all that was mentioned (especially laced ankle boots and riding boots). Of course, what we were mainly there for was an exciting inside scoop on what's coming up for next spring/summer11 from the catwalk shows and exhibition.


L'Armoire owner Melissa managed to catch the beautiful show from Jasper Conran. Going back to his roots for his own high end collection, he followed the fifties vibe with nipped in waists and clean simple cuts (a little bit Sandra D) in summery sherbet colours.

As the current American TV series Mad Men is having such an influence on the fashion world at the moment we thought we would give you a little helping hand injecting some of that sassy and oh so feminine feel into your wardrobes.

We say bow one of Liberty's silk scarves to add that sixties feel to our classic grey Malene Birger's 'Valiliy' curve shift dress.

These days this look is totally work appropriate, but if you are a Joan Holloway devote (played by the curvy Christina Hendricks), wear doing those daily house hold chores..., (or maybe not!).

When we look back at different style decades, there is always one look that seems to be totally timeless and could fit into any year since Chanel first made its stamp on fashion. Of course its the classic tweed jacket that you can wear over anything, for almost any occasion. All things Liberty!

We've always loved all things Liberty here at L'Armoire stocking the brand from when we first opened. And while the fashion world is having a moment for the iconic London store, you can come and inject a little Liberty into your life. Their beautiful collection has certainly sent us into a spin. Come and choose one of their gorgeous smudge floral digital print scarves. Made from luxury Italian silk, they never fail to fly out of the store. And its not just scarves in the collection. Making great gift ideas, their silk 'Liberty house' lavender cushion will scent the air wherever you care to place them. As always, we have had many more drops of autumn/winter stock since our last newsletter. Keeping with the camel trend of the season, Day has totally nailed it with their silk embellished dress. We love the fine pleat detailing on the shoulders and back of the dress. Wear with leggings until woolly tights become a must.

Stud detailing on anything and everything is having a moment. And what better way to channel it than on Malene Birger's black 'Barney' fine knit. Team with a great pair of jeans and pumps.

Also from Malene birger is the grey soft flannel 'Datica' tunic. We love how it eases us into autumn styling. Layer over beige peg shape chinos, and for those breezier days just add the American Vintage winter blush cashmere scarf.

1. The classic court shoe. Make sure you get a pair that fits your lifestyle and wardrobe so it will suit all possible occasions.

2. A lace up brogue. At first we weren't convinced, but now we wouldn't be without a them. An on trend alternative to a pump that will quirk up any look.

3. The riding boot. Originally a country classic and now they grace every fashionistas winter wardrobe.

4. A heeled lace ankle boot. We love the way these babies can work well with either casual or tailored looks. A neutral colour is always good, either tan or grey will keep you up to date.

5. The party shoe. Now this will give you licence to go wild. Sparkle, animal print, strappy, which ever way you choose to go, this is going to be your play shoe over the party season, so make it good!
